Redwood Stratocaster

Here’s a unique Custom Guitar Body. This is a 7/8ths size Strat design. This approach yields a smaller, lighter guitar that feels good in your hands. This top is a single piece of Redwood almost 3/4″ thick. The back is a laminate of Alder, Korina, Maple and Mahogany.

Another beautiful build by Steve Vaughn from Ontario.  Steve finished this custom guitar with Tru-oil and installed Fender pickups and tailpiece. Steve is a pleasure to work with and always does great work. This top is an interesting piece of Claro Walnut.

and specifying that particular piece. It’s a unique piece of Claro Walnut crotch wood laminated to Mahogany. Steve is a talented builder, I’ll be posting pictures of the completed custom guitar soon, stay tuned.

A tale of two Quilts

Finished up a couple of quilted maple top Custom Guitar Bodies today, thought I’d post some pictures. These are both basswood backs, some of the details are left undone so the client can spec it out to their liking. These will both make a great sounding custom guitar when completed.

The top Custom Guitar Body is a Wolfgang shape routed for a tremolo tailpiece, nice quilted spalted maple top.
The second picture is a Custom Telecaster from Corrina with an Alder back and a Padouk accent strip.
